'I am Roomi' illustrated children's book ‘I am Roomi’ is a book for children starring Roomi, a confident child who openly expresses her opinions. Roomi is an 8 year-old who is picky about her wardrobe and has a unique dress style that expresses her lively and dynamic personality. Needless to say, she doesn’t necessarily agree with the way her mother chooses to dress her. The aim of the book is to contribute to the development of confident children that acknowledge their individuality and that of others. It also urges parents to listen to their children’s viewpoints on matters. |

How were the illustrations created? The illustrations were done using a mixed media technique; mixing photography with illustration. I created actual miniatures for the backgrounds and did a photo-shoot, then I introduced the illustrated characters to the composition digitally. |
Here are some photographs of the process. |
