I worked on the cover of this fascinating story of Elizabeth Laird published by Macmillan Publishers.

A story of a ten-year-old girl that risks death to make a lifesaving dash through war-torn Beirut.

I illustrated this cover during the fall war on Lebanon in 2025. Since the story is set in 1983, researching pictures and videos of Beirut from that era was an eerily similar sight to what was unfolding around me—a process that wasn’t easy to absorb but deepened my sensitivity, which, I hope, found its way into the illustration.
